Project 2

Osteoarthrosis and the resulting musculoskeletal disorders – a load based morphological and cellular analysis

Macroscopical and microscopical information how load acts on human joints is important to protect workers from (pathological) changes of their joints in case of work related tasks.

Therefore, a wide spread approach should be realized including motion analysis, biomechanical modelling and simulation and also cell based investigation to bring together information on all relevant levels. By the closed cooperation with different scientific disciplines (medicine and engineering) and the support of experts in quality-, risk-management and regulators affairs an extensive approach to understand the problems and consequences of work related stress should be successfully realized.
